12th Aesthetica Art Prize

Event History

Hosted by Aesthetica Magazine, the Aesthetica Art Prize is a celebration of excellence in art from across the world. The award attracts thousands of entries in a range of innovative media from locations as diverse as Australia, Germany, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the UK and the USA. Recent finalists include acclaimed director Toby Dye; Tokyo-based French architect and artist Emmanuelle Moureaux; Rachel Ara, founder of the artists collective [ALLOY]; Liz West, recipient of the Royal British Society of Sculptors Bursary Award; and Ellie Davies, who has since shown new and recent works in the exhibition Into the Woods at Crane Kalman, London.

What Makes this event different?

There are two awards for entry: the Main Art Prize and the Emerging Art Prize. The Emerging Art Prize is open to current students and artists who have graduated within the last two years. The Main Art Prize is open to all, including those eligible for the Emerging Art Prize. Categories for entry: Photographic & Digital Art; Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture; Painting, Drawing & Mixed Media and Video, Installation & Performance.

Art Call: the 11th Aesthetica Art Prize presents an opportunity for established and emerging artists to further their involvement in the art world.

This award is an internationally renowned prize that is presented by Aesthetica Magazine and juried by industry experts. Enter the prize for a chance to showcase your work to wider audiences.

Prizes include:

  • £5,000 prize money courtesy of Hiscox
  • Group exhibition hosted by Aesthetica
  • Editorial mention in Aesthetica Magazine
  • Publication in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology
  • £250 art supplies vouchers courtesy of Winsor & Newton
  • Art books courtesy of Prestel

Artists may enter in the following categories: Painting, Drawing & Mixed Media and Video; Photographic & Digital Art; Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture; Installation & Performance.

Submit up to two works per Entry Fee, except for the Video, Installation & Performance category in which only one work can be submitted.

Deadline for submissions is August 31st, 2017.
