The statements that accompany each artwork are important as they provide insight into our common humanity, as well as the differences that make us all unique. In 2017, we had 212,000 people visit the exhibition which brings the total amount of visitors to 2.5 million since 2004.
Call to artists.
Art can be a powerful tool to evoke social change. Without using a word, artists can help to enlighten, educate and affect change around the world.
Since 2004, Embracing Our Differences has been using the power of art and prose to encourage and support diversity. We accomplish this is, in part, through our annual international art exhibition in Sarasota’s Bayfront Park.
This juried exhibit consists of 45 billboard-size images, each artwork is created by local, national and international artists. Their art reflects the interpretation of our theme "enriching lives through diversity and inclusion."
Embracing Our Differences invites you to take part in creating a world where differences are embraced and individuality is celebrated. Become a part of this exciting change through your visual art submission to the annual Embracing Our Differences international juried competition.
The 2019 exhibit will be displayed from January 19 through March 14, 2019, in Bayfront Park in downtown Sarasota.
