What Makes this event different?

Aeolian Dust is only for artists who draw with pastel. Only pastel artworks (soft pastel, oil pastel) will be accepted. This is the first pastel competition organized by Pastel Society of Slovakia. Our sponsor: Cuong Nguyen, amazing artist and winner of multiple pastel competitions also donated awards for winners of Aeolian Dust 2019.

Artists maintain copyright ownership.

Image Usage Rights

Photos of artworks will be published online with title and author.

Basic information

1. Aeolian Dust is an international contest for artists who draw with pastels. Selected artworks will be exhibited in a gallery and online.

2. The contest is aimed for amateur and professional artists with no restrictions of age, gender, nationality or any other.

3. Registration is open until December 28, 2018. There will be 3 member Jury that will evaluate the entries. Authors will be noticed about results by the end of February 2019. Artworks must be sent between March 1 and April 1 2019.

4. The exhibition will be held in Fontána Gallery in Piešťany, Slovakia between April 29 and May 17, 2019. Opening ceremony will be on April 29, 5pm.

5. Participation fee is 10€. This fee must be payed before the registration deadline.

6. Organizes (Pastel Society of Slovakia) reserves all rights to change the dates, rules or cancel the event.

 

Registration

 

1. Amateur artists can apply as well as professional artists with no restrictions of age, gender, nationality or any other.

2. Registration is open until December 28, 2018

3. Every author can register only once

4. Every author can register maximum of 5 artworks

5. Authors can register online. Send registration form, high quality pictures of artworks, brief introduction of author (max 500 characters) and evidence of payment.

 

Selection Process

1. Artworks will be judged by 3 members of the Jury

2. Every artwork will be presented to all Jury members anonymously with no identification data or signature. The signature can be cropped out from the photography.

3. We accept only original artworks, no copies, reproductions or artworks created during a workshop or under supervision or reproductions of photographs will nto be accepted.

4. Every member of the Jury will assign 1-10 points to each artwork. Every artist can have exhibited maximum of 3 artworks.

5. The number of exhibited artworks is limited by a capacity of the gallery.

6. Decision of the Jury is final and it is not possible to appeal against it.

Fees

 

Registration fee is set to 5€ for members of Pastel Society of Slovakia. For other artists is the registration fee set to 10€. This fee will be used for covering gallery fees and ceremony expenses.
