Event History

Embracing Our Differences, a not-for-profit organization, leverages the power of art and education to increase consciousness and open the heart to celebrate the diversity of the human family. Our focus is on creating a community where diversity and inclusion are honored. The high-point of Embracing Our Differences is our outdoor juried international art exhibit that features forty-five billboard size images that reflect artists, writers and student interpretations' of the theme "enriching lives through diversity. These billboards are created by local, national and international artists, writers and students. Embracing Our Differences international art exhibit gets bigger and better each year. Our 14th annual exhibit in 2017 was no exception as we hosted 212,000 visitors bringing attendance, since 2004, to more than 2,500,000.

Artists retains all rights, but does, by submission, irrevocably grant to Embracing Our Differences and its assigns a non-exclusive, royalty free, perpetual license to use, publish, translate and display your work and personal information, including artist name and city/state/country of residence, for display, catalogs, posters, advertising, educational and merchandising/promotional materials.

Art call for artists and photographers.

Art can function as a powerful tool to evoke social change. Without using a single word, artists can educate, enlighten, and effect change worldwide.  Embracing Our Differences calls on all artists to be a part of this change through your submissions to the 15th annual outdoor art exhibit that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Artists, photographers, amateurs, professionals,students, teachers  – everyone can participate.  Fifteen artists will be chosen. National and international submissions are encouraged. The exhibit will be on display in April and May 2018 in Sarasota, FL USA. 

Since 2004, the exhibits have been viewed by more than 2,400,000 visitors.

Final selections will be made by a three-judge panel of professional artists, art professionals and curators. Selections will be based on artistic excellence and originality in the reflection of our theme “enriching lives through diversity.” Awards totallling $3,000 (US) will be presented. 

There is no submission fee to participate and no limit to the number of entries. 

Submissions must be submitted online or postmarked no later than January 9th, 2018.
