Artist Grants | The Hopper Prize
Previous WinnersAbout Our Awards
The Hopper Prize was established in order to increase the recognition of the work created by visual artists. We want to advance artists' careers by providing unrestricted financial support coupled with a platform for increased visibility. Twice a year we accept submissions via an open call.
We are currently accepting submissions for our Fall 2018 grant cycle.
Connect with Curators
We collaborate with contemporary curators in order to select our grant winners. Jurors for the Fall 2018 awards are:
Patricia Restrepo, Assistant Curator
Contemporary Arts Museum Houston
Mia Lopez, Assistant Curator
DePaul Art Museum Chicago
Learn more about our jurors. Visit: https://hopperprize.org/#jurors
Our jurors will be selecting 5 artists from our open call who will each receive $1,000. The jurors will also select a shortlist of 30 artists who will have their work archived at hopperprize.org. Grant awards are unrestricted and may be used any way the recipients choose.
Additionally, when submitting, all artists have the option to opt-in to be considered for Instagram features on our feed @hopperprize. We will be featuring submissions daily prior to the application deadline.
