Event History

Now in its sixth year, the award is the fastest growing contemporary art competition for artists, illustrators, and fine art photographers. For its winning photographer or painter: a £5000 commission for the design of a limited edition print and tote bag, to be sold online on Artsy and in a London Gallery exhibition in 2020. To its runners up: £500 support and the opportunity to exhibit in a London gallery. 50% of the sales of the limited edition prints will go towards the Kenya-based charity Mama Biashara, which helps create manageable businesses in that can create a daily income from day one.

What Makes this event different?

Few events guarantee such a global level of exposure as the Bridgeman Studio Award. The Bridgeman Studio is managed by Bridgeman Images who are the leading licensing organisation for many high profile artists, local contemporary artists and some of the best known museums in the world.

Here is your chance to win £5,000 and have your work exhibited in an exhibition in London, England. 

The Bridgeman Studio Award is open to all artists over 18, worldwide. 

This year’s theme -- “The Art of Diversity” -- has been chosen by the awards sponsors, Verizon Media, following the creation of an internal ‘employee resource group’ called “United” this year that celebrates diversity across the company. “Championing diversity and inclusion is not only a moral and cultural mission, but also a business imperative for Verizon Media,” says Anna Watkins, UK Managing Director, Verizon Media. “The business understands that it makes better decisions, creates more innovative products and has a more profound impact on society, the more we can promote diversity and inclusion from within and through compelling partnerships such as with the Bridgeman Studio Award.”

Grand Prize: Win £5,000 commission to design a limited edition print and tote bag, which will be exhibted in a London Exhibition in 2020. A percentage of sales of the will be donated to a charity of Verizon (Main sponsor) choosing: Mama Biashara - Kenya-based charity, which helps create manageable businesses in that it helps create a daily income from day one.
