Call For Art - Museum Donor Wall

Opportunity for artists.

We seek an artist team or single artist to design, create and install a donor wall for an interior space in the museum. The wall will also display nameplates that list each individual donor/donor couples and their levels of patronage; thirty of which are to be part of the artists' overall concept and budget. Mediums to consider are 2-D applications painting, drawing, photography, relief work and/or sculpture. Selections will be based on the submitted designs and the artistic merit as well as the portfolio of each submitting artist.

The selected artwork will remain the copyright of the Artist and all licensing rights therein. Please note, however, that a release will be required for images of the completed work and/or submitted renderings, which will be used by the museum and its staff for marketing and publication of museum promotional materials. 

Who can Apply?:

This call is open to all professional artists living and working within the United States. Artist(s) must be at least 18 years old. The Artist(s) will be selected based on their experience in public art or large scale installations.

Terms and Conditions:

An award of $20,000 will be paid to the selected artist(s) for the purchase of the completed artwork. The artist or artists will be responsible for the creation and design and all materials and equipment required for the delivery and installation of the completed artwork/donor wall.

Materials that are to be used for the initial 30 fixed nameplates must be considered and listed in the proposal and allocated in the artist budget. 


Timeline:

April 10, 2019 - All artists submissions due
April 15, 2019 - Three semi-finalists selected
May 9, 2019 - Semi-finalists renderings/budgets due
May 18, 2019 - Final selection of artwork
September 1, 2019 - Deadline for completed artwork installation

How to Apply:

A non-refundable $25 application fee is required for each submission and will go towards the artists' stipends and continued maintenance of the donor wall. Artists must submit 8-10 images of completed work in a jpeg or pdf format; all images can only contain one artwork and must not exceed 5 MB in size.  An image list in pdf format must be included listing each submitted portfolio image in the order submitted with the name of the artwork, material, dimensions, and year completed. Additionally, an Artist Curriculum Vitae, Biography and Artist Statement is required to be submitted in a pdf format.
