Event History

"Chickens & Other Signs of Rural Life" began in July 2017 as an invitational group show to kick off the opening of Blue Cat Gallery & Studio in Wayne America. To celebrate its anniversary every year, Blue Cat will host a juried exhibit by the same title, as the opening reception coincides with the community's annual celebration, the Wayne Chicken Show, which draws several thousand people to this rural community in the northeast corner of Nebraska. The juror for the 2018 exhibit, Meghan O'Connor, was an invited artist to the 2017 exhibit. Blue Cat plans to continue the tradition each year by inviting one of the award winners to jury the next year's show.
