For this juried exhibition the curators are looking for artwork based on dreams. Dreams can be thought of as windows into what might be called a “substitute” reality that we all experience. Our dreams can have a fleeting effect on us or a significance that can haunt us for a lifetime. Visual artists can create a safe refuge for the observer, offering a connection to these dreams at our invitation as we appreciate the creative directions we discover through their art.   Artists have the opportunity to present a dream as a hazy filtered reality from representational memories or as an explosion of surrealistic and abstract imagery, all of which may be emotionally treasured as his or her own.
