Duluth is a thriving city near Atlanta. It is poised for continued growth with a blend of entrepreneurial enterprise, major corporations, small businesses, visionary developers, and strong, creative leadership. The city is home to 30,000 residents and has hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. The city center is thriving around a historic, yet “hip” downtown area consisting of restored buildings dating from the 1800’s, as well as complimentary new construction housing shops, restaurants, performing arts venues and our Town Green that has an interactive fountain and amphitheater. The city covers roughly 10 square miles and includes a number of key corridors: Buford Highway, Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Pleasant Hill Road, Abbotts Bridge Road/SR 120, Main St., and Rogers Bridge Road.
Art call for Muralists.
The City of Duluth’s Public Arts Commission has issued a call for artist proposals for one or more Wall Murals for various locations around the City. Sizes vary.
The goal of the call is to provide public art that is of interest to residences and visitors that conveys a piece of the story of Duluth's History and reflects the long history of the connection between the citizens of Duluth and the City itself.
Other mural themes can relate to the current vibe of the city or the vision of the future. The overall mural lengths and height will be determined by location, and by the artist's concept. The walls consist mostly of concrete and block construction.
