Event History

From a small exhibition in 1964, the North Carolina Artists Exhibition has evolved to be the largest annual all media juried exhibition in NC. It offers artists an opportunity to present their work and be juried by a renowned art professional. The Exhibition space at the Contemporary Art Museum located in downtown Raleigh enhances viewing opportunities and purchase of the artists' works by the public through open artist talks, opening, and closing receptions, and First Friday gallery walks.

What Makes this event different?

All art must be available for purchase. Artists receive 70% of the sale price. Artists Talks featuring juried artists will be regularly scheduled throughout the 3 month exhibition period. Cash awards totaling $6,000. The Exhibition and Juried artists and their work will be promoted through social media. Opening, including a Juror's lecture and closing receptions. The exhibition venue, CAM Raleigh masterfully displays the juried artists' work.

Copyright Policy

Entry in the Exhibition constitutes agreement to the conditions outlined in the prospectus. The artist grants Raleigh Fine Arts Society permission to photograph any work accepted for the exhibition for archival or educational purposes or publicity. Raleigh Fine Arts Society will exhibit and sell the artist’s work on the Raleigh Fine Arts Society website at www.raleighfinearts.org. Image Usage Rights

Images will be incorporated in the Exhibition 4 color catalog and used on the Raleigh Fine Arts web site and in social media to promote the Exhibition and Artists' and their work.

The North Carolina Artists Exhibition is the largest all-media annual exhibition in NC with over 40 years celebrating NC Artists. The Juror for the 2020 Exhibition is Nat Trotman, a North Carolina native and currently Curator, Performance, and Media at the Guggenheim.

This Exhibition is exclusive to NC Resident Artists and offers $6,000 in awards. Venue is the Contemporary Art Museum in Raleigh’s premier art neighborhood.

Additional features include a four-color printed exhibition catalog and opening Juror’s lecture and reception as well as a closing reception.
