Event History

The Society of Wildlife Artists is a registered charity that aims to generate an appreciation of and delight in the natural world through all forms of fine art, based on representing the world’s wildlife.

Copyright Policy

The copyright and all other intellectual property rights in and to Works, will remain the property of the artist and any enquiries in relation to such rights will be referred to the artist. So far as any rights in the Works are owned by a third party that third party will remain the owner of such rights in and to the Works.

Image Usage Rights

The Exhibition Administrators have the right to copy and/or reproduce the Works and to communicate and/or issue such copies to the public in connection with the exhibition, for advertising the sale of the Works, for educational and public workshops, and for general marketing or promotional purposes, and other related activities, including without limitation the incorporation of images of the Works within promotional and marketing materials, postcards, catalogues, posters, DVDs, on Exhibition Administrators' websites, in workshop presentations and on information screens throughout the exhibiting gallery and any media now known or hereafter devised.

The Society of Wildlife Artists seeks submissions of works that depict wildlife subjects and evoke the spirit of the natural world.

Artists are invited to submit works for exhibition alongside members of the Society of Wildlife Artists at their 55th Annual Exhibition 2018, 'The Natural Eye'.

The Committee is seeking work that evokes the spirit of the natural world and which reveals a personal experience or true understanding of the subject. If you have not already done so, visiting the annual show will give you a clearer idea of the criteria the Selection Committee is seeking.

Any artist over 18 may submit.

Work should be based on representing the world’s wildlife.

Acceptable media: Work may be in any medium including painting, sculpture and original prints (if prints, please detail edition and how many are available). The SWLA is keen to embrace new and innovative mediums and will accept computer-generated images as ‘original prints’.
