Event History
Originally established as a photography and art studio with an emphasis on education, The Photo Shop has turned into a gathering place for local and national artists. We love presenting and promoting the work of artists in many different mediums, especially encouraging those who are just starting out on their artistic journey.
What Makes this event different?
All selected artists are encouraged to submit a video Artist Statement, which will be played in the gallery through the duration of the exhibit. Reproduction services for selected artwork may be available for the exhibition, offering the artist the opportunity to sell numbered prints of their work in addition to the original piece. Individual feedback is available for work selected for the exhibit.

What is your vision of The Light Within? Enter your work for the opportunity to take part in a dynamic gallery showing and even win a cash prize!
The Light Within, presented at The Photo Shop in Spanish Fork, Utah, will be juried and judged by Stephen Parsons, MFA (Photography). This theme is open to various approaches to the subject. We are not encouraging any particular direction of how this theme is best interpreted. Instead, we want to see your perspective. Maybe to you The Light Within means a landscape, maybe a portrait, or maybe an abstract work. Whatever it is, show us what you've got! All work must be original.
The entry fee is $25 for the first two entries, $10 for each additional entry. Maximum entries: 6 per artist.
$500 in prize money will be awarded, including prizes for Best of Show, 1st place, 2nd place and People's Choice Award.
Though NSF art will be accepted, we encourage all artists to offer their works for sale. Sale prices are set by the artist, who will retain 50% of the sale price.
No size limits. All art must be ready for gallery display: unfortunately, pieces with sawtooth hangers or that are improperly mounted cannot be displayed. All work on paper must be protected by glass or Plexiglas: shipped pieces must be under Plexiglas. Accepted artwork must have a label on the back of the piece with the artist's name and title of the piece. Shipped artwork must include a prepaid return label and be shipped in a container suitable for return shipment, or be picked up in person by Mon., Jan. 4, 2020. Works without a prepaid return label or that are not picked up by Mon., Jan. 4, 2020 are considered the property of The Photo Shop. NO PACKING PEANUTS!
All precautions will be taken while handling and displaying accepted art. The Photo Shop is not liable for any damage, breakage, replacement or cost associated with any damage or loss that may occur at any point during the transport, display or packing of any artwork. Insurance for loss or damage of artwork, if desired, must be provided by the artist.
