Event History
Last year's TRANSFORMATIONS Exhibition was a big success with entries coming in from 23 states and 7 countries. The show was called the best show on the East Coast, by the many who saw it, and it featured the work of several internationally known photographers.
What Makes this event different?
All shows at the Pennsylvania Center for Photography display both print and digital exhibitions. Digital exhibitions allow photographers who are either too far away to deliver physical prints or who are otherwise unable to make prints, the opportunity to have their exceptional work recognized and exhibited. This strategy allows more photographers to be represented and provides a more diverse viewing experience for the viewing public.
Copyright Policy
Photographer retains all copyrights.
Image Usage Rights
We ask that we be allowed to use images to promote the show but the photographer is free to say no.
The TRANSFORMATIONS Exhibition is a unique opportunity for photographers who manipulate, modify, composite, or otherwise alter reality to have their work shown in an accepting and appreciative environment.
The exhibition was conceived as a retort to judges and members of the viewing public who dismissed such imagery with comments like "well, he used Photoshop".
All genres of photography are acceptable, from landscapes to surreal. There are only two requirements: 1.) the work must start its life in a camera (but don't just take a picture of your non-photographically derived artwork!), and: 2.) it must be good.
You are free to enter anything you like, but the judges, (and the viewing public), recognize when photographers throw a filter on a bad image and try to save it. That won't fly here as the competition is really good and very creative.
