Observe the people around you and capture the way they embrace wood as part of their life.

Take a closer look at your daily life and surroundings and show us where and how wood appears in your culture. The contest is looking for photographs that can best present the interrelationship between wood and culture in the three given categories.

World Wood Day Event is an annual global cultural celebration advocated by the International Wood Culture Society (IWCS) to increase recognition on the significance of wood in our daily lives and to appreciate wood as an eco-friendly renewable biomaterial.

The contest is divided into three categories, "People," "Heritage" and "Environment," to further elaborate the importance of wood being a part of our lives. We hope to encourage people to pay closer attention to their surroundings. Through these photo contests, we would like to remind the public the importance and true value of wood and its responsible uses in our lives.

All three contests begin on November 20, 2017 and end on February 20, 2018.  The results will be determined by a jury panel (80%) and public voting (20%) and winners will be announced on February 23, 2018.  The jury panel consists of five members chosen by the International Wood Culture Society.

There will be 34 winners and $16,900 USD cash prizes in total across the three contests.
