Call for Art: Beyond Craft

Exhibition: November 1 – December 4, 2022

The Chico Art Center is seeking skillful and expressive handmade objects from across the United States. The works should acknowledge traditional methods of making with a focus on the material culture of today’s cross cultural landscape. Materials are central to an understanding of culture and social relations. All materials local to your region and all aesthetics are welcome. The exhibit is meant to feature the divergent ways that handmade objects can reveal inherent cultural and environmental influences. We are looking for objects that engage visitors in the shared experiences of today’s world.

Prizes: $500 First Place, $300 Second Place, $175 Third Place
