Call for entries for artists. Submit proposals for artwork to be installed in display windows on Montclair's main thoroughfare, which is adjacent to the Studio Montclair Gallery.
The windows measure 2.2 ft. deep, 23 ft. long, and approximately 7 ft. tall. The windows have an electrical outlet for motorized installations, LED lighting on a photocell that is automatically lit from dawn to dusk, and an alarm system. All of the window glass has been treated with a UV coating.
We seek exciting and thought-provoking site-specific installations that are easily visible to street traffic. We are looking for both 2D and/or 3D work.
Please note: contactless installation will be implemented during this strange time - artist or their agent must be available to come to Montclair and install their work.
The Juror: Elie Porter Trubert has been the Executive Director of The Center for Contemporary Art in Bedminster since 2011 and, prior to that, was the Director of Development and Communications at the Visual Art Center of New Jersey and the Hunterdon Art Museum. She has a B.A. in Studio Art from Kenyon College, studied at Tyler School of Art in Rome, and participated in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in New York. A New Jersey native, she lives and makes art in Lebanon Township.
