Menil Drawing Institute Scholars Program
The establishment of a Fellowship Program is a key component of the Menil Drawing Institute as it aspires to become a major research center on modern and contemporary drawing. The program will foster the highest level of scholarship and make possible rich, interdisciplinary, object-based conversations on the drawing medium’s history, theory, criticism, and practice.

Fellowship Benefits

  • The Fellows at the Drawing Institute will receive a generous stipend to cover living and other expenses incurred during the Fellowship.
  • Each fellow will be housed in a fully-furnished apartment within a recently-refurbished historic bungalow on the Menil campus.
  • Fellows will be assigned an office at the Menil Drawing Institute to use for the duration of the fellowship.
  • Fellows will have access to the collections, archives, and staff at the Menil; and to libraries throughout Houston, including the Menil’s library.

To learn more about this opportunity, please visit the website, click on Campus and select Menil Drawing Institute and scroll to Scholars program.
