Allora Gallery invites photographers worldwide to participate in "Small Wonders," our upcoming online group exhibition.
Wonder hides in the smallest details — when we look closely, the ordinary reveals itself as extraordinary. A dewdrop becomes a universe, weathered wood transforms into abstract landscape, the intricate architecture of a flower's centre emerges in perfect geometry. This exhibition celebrates the beauty discovered through close observation, where stepping closer and looking harder transforms our understanding of the world.
We seek photographs that explore the intimate scale of life — the details we might walk past without noticing, the textures that reward patient observation, the miniature worlds waiting to be discovered. How do you capture the perfect spiral of a shell? What stories emerge from the weathered surface of stone? Can a single macro photograph reveal an entire ecosystem in a drop of water? We're looking for images that show how stepping closer, looking harder, and paying attention transforms our understanding of the world around us.
We welcome macro photography revealing nature's intricate details, close-up studies of textures and patterns, intimate explorations of flowers, plants, and insects, the hidden beauty in everyday objects, architectural details that create abstract compositions, the miniature landscapes found in rust, ice, and decay, water droplets, bubbles, and reflections at close range, and any photograph that celebrates the extraordinary complexity hidden in small things.
We are open to submissions from photographers of all levels and backgrounds
