The Artist-In-Residence programme aims to bring together artists from different countries and disciplines for a concentrated period of minimum 3 weeks.
There are two ways to join our program:
1 Annual grants for Portuguese and international artists. Open call will be announced.
2 By application . The call is open all year round for self iniciated applications (fee required).
Generally there are 3 or 4 artists sharing the residency at the time. Could be more or less depending on the season or special events.
We offer a general residency program to the resident artist that might vary according to each project:
Regular mentorships and follow up of the projects by professional artists/curators.
Cultural visits to the natural, historical or industrial heritage of the region.
Resident´s formal or informal gatherings.
Monthly schedule of the residency, local and regional events.
Participation in our workshops.
According to the projects and the artist´s plans we can organize thematic workshops such as traditional embroidery (Arraiolos is well known for its embroidery rugs), share our network with our partners and organize artist´s lectures for university art students.
