Call for Entries for Artists
In 2013 the city of Sydney commissioned The WE ARE HERE mural at Oxford & Foley in Sydney’s Darlinghurst. The artwork extends along the façade of Foley Street and celebrates the rich and complex history of the area.
Joint-venture partners, TOGA and AsheMorgan, are the developers of Oxford & Foley. The developers are seeking expressions of interest from artists, curators and organizations to create a second iteration of the WE ARE HERE (2013) artwork on the northern Foley Street façade at 90 Oxford Street, Darlinghurst.
The upcoming WE ARE HERE STILL artwork will be influenced by the themes of the original, which celebrated the Gadigal people and their land, along with the Oxford Street and LGBTQIA+ community, the Mardi Gras march and its many colourful identities.
Artists are encouraged to interpret the history and distinct local characters of the area, connecting with the location and contemporary audiences in innovative and creative ways.
Work from a range of mediums, such as sculptural installation, light art, photography, paint and mixed media are welcome.
The call for Expressions of Interest is now open.
