Add to Favorites Report Listing

This art call is now in its thirteenth year.

The Lynn Painter-Stainers Prize is one of the most prestigious awards for artists in the UK, and offers total prize money of £30,000, which includes a First Prize of £15,000, a Second Prize of £4,000, and the People’s Prize - which was introduced for the first time last year worth £2,000.

This is a particularly popular competition among young contemporary painters and art students. The coveted Young Artist Award of £4,000 is available to artists who are aged 25 or younger. This prize aims to promote the tradition of painting and support fresh new talent. For the fourth year running, the competition is also offering the Brian Botting Prize of £5,000 that will be awarded to an artist who is 30 or younger for an outstanding representation of the human figure.

The competition is open to all UK based artists who are over 18 years old. Artists may submit up to four works online at lps.artopps.co.uk. The entry fee is £15 per work (£8 per work for students). Approximately 100 works are to be selected for an exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London, from March 5th-17th, 2018. The exhibition will be hung and curated by Sam Wadsworth, Artist and Andrew Wilton, Visiting Research Fellow at Tate Britain.

The deadline for entry is 5pm, Wednesday December 6th, 2017.
