What Makes this event different?

FotoFilmic is an arts organization that works to highlight and build alternative contemporary perspectives for 21st Century photographers who are attached to film and analog practices by offering them international opportunities to grow, exhibit, and publish their work both online, in print and book forms. FOTOFILMIC17 holds true to this commitment by reaching to the core and periphery of global talent running shows in well known centers of art and culture such as New York and Paris and then bringing them to the burgeoning scenes of tomorrow like Vancouver and Thessaloniki. This same progressive and integrative care applies to the jury boards, welcoming renowned photographers (Larry Fink, Roger Ballen and to a certain extent Raymond Meeks) - putting their collective expertise to work with that of younger talents & curators (Kosmas Pavlidis, Ashlyn Davis, and Valérie Cazin). The traveling exhibitions have a broad reach and feature emerging photographers from different countries, all of whom are presented democratically in a unified exhibition format (prints are produced by FotoFilmic in the the same size & frames). We know of no other event or organization regardless of size that provides unknown film-based and analogue photographers such an opportunity.
