Art Call for SECRET GARDEN. Acceptable mediums include painting, printmaking, drawing, mixed media, photography, and collage among others.
This is a group exhibition of female identifying artists who are exploring figurative works of nudes and erotic art.The exhibit will take place in July 2017 at The Untitled Space gallery in NYC. Submissions are being accepted until June 4, 2017.
The exhibit "Secret Garden" is inspired partly by the book, "My Secret Garden" (1973) written by sex positive feminist pioneer Nancy Friday. The author was instrumental in addressing the taboos that revolved around female sexuality in the early 70s. She was an important figure of the feminist sexual liberation movement.
The exhibit will be featuring a wide array of works by female artists who are addressing erotic themes in their works, and how their themes relate to feminism and/or contemporary society today. The gallery is looking for works across all mediums that are uninhibited, and fearless with regards to the female form and explorations around this theme. Artists can submit up to five works of art for consideration. Artwork must be framed and/or ready to hang if accepted.
