Event History

Pictorial Photographers of America was founded by Clarence H. White in 1916. It is one of New York City's oldest photography clubs. Meetings are at 7:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month at 346 West 20th Street (between 8th& 9th), St. Peter's Church Rectory in Chelsea. One meeting during the month is usually a presentation by a photo professional, and one is a members' competition (digital and print categories) critiqued and judged by a professional. Art call for photographers. Join the Pictorial Photographers of America for their season opener on Tuesday, September 26th at 7:00PM for a live photo sharing event entitled:  "Short Shorts". 

Bring your prints with you. Prints need not be matted. Best sizes for your presentation are 8 X 10 or 11 X 14.  You may use other sizes too. Put numbers on each print, and your name and title on the back.

For digital files be sure to resize images to 1024 pixels wide x 768 pixels high. High resolution 200 to 300 dpi. Number each image and include the title. Bring your digital images on a flash drive. This is a live photo sharing event.

The meeting is at Saint Peter's Church Rectory, 346 West 20th Street (Between 8th and 9th Ave), New York City. Ring the bell when you arrive.  The theme for the photo sharing event is summer. We look forward to seeing your best summer shots. This photo sharing event is free and open to both members and nonmembers.  Bring 5 to 10 prints or 5 to 10 digital images for the presentation.

Some of the images will be selected for display in our newsletter and on our website. Be sure you also have digitized copies of your prints in case they are selected to be displayed.
