Event History

We opened the doors of our Mediterranean villa in 2016 during the period from mid-November until mid-March, with the aim to accommodate international artists of all ages and disciplines. During the first edition of the residency we hosted 5 artists. During the second edition 2017-2018 we grew bigger and managed to receive over 40 artists from all over the world! The results of their work in the residency were shown at the final exhibition in the residency. This year we decided to also host artists with children during the first two weeks of the residency period.

What Makes this event different?

Artists have the opportunity to choose a project to work on (it can also be an ongoing project) and may stay for a period of 2 weeks to 2 months. We believe that artists benefit from having space and time to contemplate their work and to develop already existing ideas or to get inspired for future projects.

This is a cosy place in the French Riviera that welcomes international artists of all nationalities who are working in many different fields of artistic creation for a short or long period of stay.

Invited artists can choose the period of their stay as well as the projects that they will be working on during their residency. We're open to receive artists collectives. Artists are asked to give a presentation of their work and to participate actively in multiple discussions and events during their residency stay. We encourage collaboration between artists and we support the development of new projects. If an artist chooses to do so they may also work on an ongoing project.

The residency is located in Cassis, the picturesque village next to France’s Calanques National Park. Artists are housed in a beautiful Mediterranean villa with a garden, a view to the sea and Cap Canaille cliffs, and within walking distance to the Calanques National Park.
