Founded in St. Petersburg in 2007 by independent artists and curators, the CYFEST has become one of the largest international media art festivals.

The festival promotes the foundation of new forms of art and high technology interactions, by building connections between curators, artists, engineers and programmers around the world and exposing a wide audience to the works in the field of digital media.

Through the years, the festival has invited artists from different countries around the world. CYFEST became known for being the original and the most significant New Media event in Russia. CYFEST’s 7th edition made a crucial leap in 2013 by expanding for the first time outside of Russia to Berlin, and attracted over 10,000 visitors over 5 days. In 2014/2015, CYLAND & CYFEST reached further still by branching to 5 progressive cities including St Petersburg, Moscow, Tokyo, Berlin, and New York strengthening cultural exchange among innovators.
