The stARTup Art Fair was founded in San Francisco in 2015. This is the second edition of stARTup Art Fair Chicago.
What Makes this event different?
stARTup Art Fair is a unique contemporary art fair for independent artists. It is an intimate, boutique fair that provides artists and art enthusiasts with direct access to the art world, helping to foster new relationships while creating a new exhibition platform for thought-provoking contemporary artwork in three major cities across the country: Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Using the Internet, consumers are experiencing artwork directly from the artist via social media. Artists are increasingly reporting building a thriving client base by selling works straight from the Internet. The stARTup Art Fair mirrors this shift in the art market by creating direct access between consumer and artist without sacrificing quality. Each of the three fairs assembles a panel of gallerists, curators, and professional artists to vet the exhibiting artists, in order to ensure a thoughtful and dynamic group of artists who will impress and inspire our attendees.

Selected artists take over a hotel room to present a solo show of their work.
The fair runs September 15th-17th, 2017 at the ACME Hotel in the River North District. The hotel is within blocks of the Navy Pier where EXPO Chicago will be taking place the same weekend. Participating artists have a fantastic opportunity to expose new work to a myriad of art consultants, curators, gallery owners, and writers who will be coming to Chicago for a weekend of contemporary art.
stARTup Art Fair’s mission is to provide a marketplace that gives artists the power to present and sell work on their own terms. All sales proceeds belong 100% to the artists.
