Event History
This is an inaugural call, that is being co-sponsored by Hill Center Galleries and the Capitol Hill Art League.
What Makes this event different?
Hill Center Galleries are located in the historic Old Naval Hospital. Fourteen-foot ceilings and eight-foot windows allow natural light to stream through many of the gallery spaces. As a public building space, the art serves as a backdrop to many events and programs of all types.
Copyright Policy
Hill Center will provide credit to artists when their pieces are used in publicity or other materials.
Image Usage Rights
Hill Center will provide credit to artists when their pieces are used in publicity or other materials. Artists can choose to opt out and not allow Hill Center to use their piece in promotion.
Call to artists in the DC Metro Area
This exhibit will be held during the annual Cherry Blossom celebration. Artists from DC, Virginia and Maryland are all invited to submit pieces of original wall-hung artwork in any medium that is inspired by trees of any kind. Artists are asked to include a short description that identifies the tree that inspired their work and any personal connection to it. Original artwork created in any medium will be considered.
This exhibition will be juried by Carole Ottesen, who is a writer, photographer and illustrator specializing in garden subjects. All artwork must be available for sale. See full call for complete description and entry criteria.
