This residency provides an opportunity to work in a unique environment in the Canary Wharf Estate on the Isle of Dogs during the summer of 2017. The only requirement is that any artwork produced must respond to this environment.

Canary Wharf is a 97-acre office and retail space that was created from disused Docklands (http://group.canarywharf.com/)

The residency space is located within the welfare facilities on a construction site. The residency will run from August 22nd to September 29th 2017. The space is accessible between 8am - 6pm Monday to Fridays with Tuesdays and Wednesdays being core days for the group to interact.

The residency space provides a “studio” and a discussion/meeting area (11.25m x 4.60m) that comfortably handles up to 25 artists. There is also a “communal” room nearby.

Wifi and electricity are available. Phone reception is difficult as the space is two levels below ground. There is neither running water nor a sink  in the space though toilet and welfare facilities are provided in separate areas. 

To include a wider audience the intention is to involve a number of industry experts, external artists and others related to Canary Wharf and the Arts and Events team of Canary Wharf.
