If you need assistance with arts based legal matters it may be helpful to know that many law firms ask their lawyers to do a certain number of pro bono hours on an annual basis. Lawyers often enjoy working on these cases and will help artists or small organizations who are in need. Legal issues that a pro bono lawyer may help you address are the incorporation of an arts-related businesses or non-profit, intellectual property rights, contracts, and more. If you have a legal issue that is not arts related it will likley not fall under pro bono status even though you are an artist.
