Event History

Camino al Arte A.C. is an Artists' Residency and artistic development platform situated in the historic community of Atotonilco, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Our core mission is to act as a cultural catalyst, bridging the global art scene with community arts education. We achieve this through a prestigious International Residency Program that attracts high-level creators across multiple disciplines—from visual arts and design to dance and writing—from countries including the US, Canada, Colombia, and Uruguay. This international engagement significantly diversifies the local creative ecosystem. Our commitment extends deep into the local community via community activations and workshops. We bring art directly to the rural population through workshops led by resident artists, collaborating with local schools from elementary to high school levels. The tangible results of this model speak for themselves: since October 2023, our platform has hosted 35 resident artists, executed over 95 community projects, and benefited more than 560 people through our programs.

What Makes this event different?

This isn’t a program where you clock in and out. It’s a living, breathing space where creativity unfolds in rhythm with the vastness of the land and the warmth of the community. Whether you’re deep in a project, open to collaboration, or seeking time to rediscover your practice, you set your own pace — and we’re here to support you.
