Call for Entries for the Instanbul Photo Awards
İstanbul Photo Awards is an international news photography competition organized by Anadolu Ajansı, a global news agency with more than 100 years of experience. Created to elevate the field of news photography, the awards honor the work of courageous, talented professional photographers worldwide. Today, the İstanbul Photo Awards is one of the most recognized news photography contests in the world, drawing significant attention from photojournalists. Since its inception, nearly 20,000 photographers have registered to participate.
Along with the generous awards of the contest aiming to support the hard work and dedication of news photographers worldwide, the application is totally free.
2026 contest applications are open between 13 Nov. 2025 - 9 Jan. 2026 at 23:59 (UTC+3) İstanbul time. Photographs contain the relevant and correct information. Submitted photos must be taken in 2025 (between 1 Jan. 2025- 31 Dec. 2025). Photographer has the liability for providing accurate personal information like name, age, company etc. besides the image info like date, location etc.. Photographers are invited to apply all categories at the same time, both with published and unpublished photos.
All the winning photographs have the power to engage people against wars and conflicts, and to familiarize them with different cultures. The jury, consisting of prestigious names from different fields of photography, had a very tough time selecting the most powerful photos of the year from such a strong field. Every year international jury meets to select the winners.
Every year online applications are accepted via website. The results of the contest announced by the end of jury gathering each year. Award winning photographs will be published in photobook which will be send almost everywhere all around the world to the photography professionals and displayed at exhibitions in significant galleries around the world such as Istanbul, Shanghai, New York, Vienna, Tokyo, London, Brussels, Moscow and Madrid.
