Open Call for Artists – MFA Spatial Exhibition 2026
The Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites artists worldwide to explore the power of spatial language in their work through the MFA Spatial Exhibition 2026. This open call for artists encourages innovative approaches to the use of positive and negative space, creating tension, serenity, or a dynamic combination within a single artwork.
Artists can experiment with spatial relationships in countless ways: through stark contrast, geometric or minimalist compositions, perspective that draws the viewer to a focal point, or, for 3D works, through volume and interaction between objects. Thoughtful compositional balance adds meaning by showing not only what is present but also what is absent, engaging viewers and shaping interpretation.
Eligibility: This international call is open to all artists except those from sanctioned countries. MFA accepts original 2D or 3D artworks that follow exhibition guidelines. All submissions are blindly juried by professional and credentialed art experts.
Exhibition Dates: Selected works will be featured in MFA’s Virtual Gallery from June 15 – August 13, 2026.
This is an opportunity for artists to showcase their creative mastery of space and composition while gaining visibility in a professionally curated online exhibition.
