VisArts is a non-profit art center located in the heart of Rockville Town Square. VisArts presents exhibitions of contemporary established and emerging artists in four galleries. The center hosts a Studio Artist Program, an Emerging Curator Program, and an Art Education Program making it an active and important presence in the greater metropolitan arts community.
Art call for Artists.
VisArts invites local and national artists to submit applications for studio space at VisArts in Rockville, Maryland. The Studio Artist Program offers a unique opportunity for a dynamic individual artist or collaborative artist team. Studio artists can experiment and create new work, evolve an existing body of work or develop a project all in a stimulating and supportive environment. Selected artists get studio space provided at a reasonable cost for up to three years. The Studio Artist Program encourages dialogue, interaction, and exploration within the VisArts artist community and the larger Rockville community. Engagement with the Rockville community can take form in a number of ways including workshops, public artist talks, screenings, community or socially-engaged art projects, open studio events, or other mutually agreed upon events. Each year the current Studio Artists present their work in a group exhibition at VisArts.
Lease period: September 1, 2017 – August 31, 2018

Notification to selected artists: Friday, June 23, 2017
