En Plein Air Pico - June 2018
Pico island, is located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. The island features a volcanic mountain, pristine lagoons, endless shades of green and flowers, natural sea-pools, birds, dolphins and whales as well as caves and trails to explore, dark lava fields, and over 300 craters visible by climbing the 2351 meter-high mountain. It is an artist's paradise.
MiratecArts supports artists who want to visit and work in Pico island. We run a number of programs throughout the year. In 2018, we have planned a specific program for PLEIN AIR painters; between June 21st -30th, for the low cost registration of 200€ / 250 USD. Our artistic director hosts a welcome dinner, a talk presentation about the island and the two neighboring islands that can be visited for the day. The director offers help finding accommodations (if needed), takes you to at least 5 locations (one per day) for you to explore and paint, and gives you open-access to the MiratecArts Galeria Costa, a 20,000 square meter land (1Km walk from one end to the other) amidst vineyards, bush, local forest and coastline.
While you may also wish to come at another time of the year, our organization is planning these dates as we find that it can be great to be in a group. At the end of your stay we have the potential of doing an event exhibiting your work in the center of the main town of Madalena.
