Located in Nebraska City, NE - The Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, offers 50 to 60 juried residencies per year to creatives around the country and from around the world. The Center houses up to five artists for stays that can vary from 2 to 8 weeks. Each resident has their own studio space, a private bedroom, private bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is a $100 weekly stipend for the duration of the artist's stay.
Artists are selected by a discipline-specific panel of professionals. Decisions are based on both the quality of the proposal as well as the support materials that are submitted. Artists from Nebraska as well as those transitioning from graduate school get special consideration. Visual artists work in one of three studios. Two studios are approximately 425 square feet and one is 258 square feet. An onsite letterpress studio is also available.
There are two application deadlines each year: September 1 and March 1.
Applicants are required to apply online.
There is a non-refundable application fee of $35 applies.
