What Makes this event different?

This is a unique curatorial project and art show that aims to showcase a diverse vision of transformations and changes that people have been through due to various factors. Artists worldwide are invited to apply. This curatorial project offers a unique opportunity for exposure in New York City. The 2017 International Juried Exhibition "Transformation" was a success and connected artists from several countries, including Costa Rica, Norway, South Korea, and others. Since 2013, we have curated successful art shows that have attracted artists from 40+ countries worldwide.

Copyright Policy

The submitting artist owns the copyright to his/her competition entry as its author.

Image Usage Rights

By submitting an entry to the art competition “Transformation” artists give RE:ARTISTE permission for the entry to be used on the RE:ARTISTE website and its social media channels. The artists give RE:ARTISTE the right to use their name and city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying the artist as the author of the entry.

Change and transformation are among the things we are unable to avoid. We live in a world that is undergoing transformation at an ever faster rate in many different ways, including positive and negative changes.  

We want to see artworks that are motivated by all the kinds of transformations that we all experience:  

• Globalization
• Wave of immigration, involuntary and voluntary
• Environment
• Human rights transformation (including feminist movements, racial inequality, LGBTG social movements, and more)
• Beauty transformation related to social and cultural expectations, aging, and more
• Personal transformation - psychological and beyond 

Artists working at all career levels are welcome to share all kinds of transformations that you’re witnessing or taking part in.

Award

One winner will get a free weeklong artist residency that includes a studio and a fully furnished bedroom while working at the residency.

Twenty-five selected artists will be invited to take part in the visual art exhibition “Transformation” in December 2018, Gallery MC, New York.  Finalists will have an opportunity to give an artist talk, be interviewed and/or featured on the RE:ARTISTE's website and social media networks.

The Jury

The art competition is evaluated by the professionals from the art world. Please find out more about the jurors on the dedicated web page.

Submissions

The competition is open to established and emerging artists who are 18 years or older.

Entries* must be in JPEG format, no larger than 1400 x 1800 pixels, and under 2MB.

• Photography (including documentary)
• Painting
• Illustration
• Drawing
• Installation
• Mixed Media Art
• Digital Art
• Print
• 3D-Art including Ceramic Works
• Video Art (upload at least one key image related to your video and add the link to your video in the Statement)

The deadline for submissions: August 31, 2018. Finalists will be announced on RE:ARTISTE’s website on or before 10/06/2018 and personally notified via email.

Entry Fee: the entry fee is $35 for up to 5 images.
