Washington state will soon be the first state to embed a full-time artist in a statewide agency in order to bring in a creative approach to help advance the agency’s goals like reducing congestion, improving safety, promoting economic vitality, supporting multimodal transportation systems, and creating healthier communities.
Applications are currently open for interested individuals to apply for this groundbreaking new program housed within WSDOT.
With the support from ArtPlace America, Transportation for America (a program of Smart Growth America), and the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) the creation of a new one-year artist-in-residence program will be the first of its kind in the country.
