The Ingram Collection announces its annual Young Contemporary Talent Purchase Prize Exhibition. This event is open to UK artists who have graduated from art school within the last 3 years. The purpose of the prize is to celebrate and support the work of young artists at the outset of their careers.

All applications are reviewed by a panel including Chris Ingram, the serial entrepreneur and founder of The Ingram Collection and Jo Baring, Director & Curator of The Ingram Collection.

Successful artists will get their works exhibited at The Cello Factory in London in December 2017.  Up to three works in the exhibit will be purchased and will become part of the public collection. One of the Prize-winning artists will be invited to mount a solo show at the Art Fund Prize-winning gallery, The Lightbox (December 2018-January 2019).

Artworks selected for the exhibition will be made available for sale by The Ingram Collection for a fee of 20% of the selling price. This percentage is directed into funding the Collection’s work with young artists.

All exhibiting artists are invited to attend one-on-one professional development meetings that are run by a leading contemporary art dealer, as well as professional development and networking events during the exhibition run.

The 2016 YCT Prize was awarded to three artists;  painter Steven Ingman whose work Temple of Industrial Devotion IV takes inspiration from the landscape of derelict ruins, artist Tahmina Negmat, who worked with unpredictable surface textures to create her winning work Interrupted Ejaculation and Corey Whyte, an artist whose work Reindeer Totem distorts inflatable forms by using preliminary moulds to create a solid exaggerated structure.
