Call for Entries: 2026 Foundwork Artist Prize
Foundwork invites artists worldwide to apply for the 2026 Foundwork Artist Prize, an international juried award recognizing outstanding artistic practices across all media. One artist will be selected as the 2026 Honoree, with three additional artists named to the Short List.
The 2026 Honoree will receive an unrestricted $10,000 grant, studio visits with each of the five jurors, and an interview for Foundwork's Dialogues program. Each of the three shortlisted artists will receive a $1,000 micro-grant to support their artistic practice.
2026 Jury
The five-member jury brings together leading figures from the contemporary art community:
- Stefan Benchoam – Artist and Co-Founder of Proyectos Ultravioleta and NuMu, Guatemala City
- François Ghebaly – Founder of François Ghebaly Gallery, Los Angeles
- Manuela Moscoso – Executive and Artistic Director of the Center for Art, Research and Alliances (CARA), New York
- Gabi Ngcobo – Director of Kunstinstituut Melly, Rotterdam
- Esther Schipper – Founder of Esther Schipper Gallery, Berlin
Eligibility and Application Requirements
The Foundwork Artist Prize is open to artists residing anywhere in the world, with limited exceptions.
To be considered, artists must maintain a published profile on the Foundwork website containing:
- At least six artworks
- An artist statement
The profile must remain published throughout the selection period, from 5:00 pm PT on September 25, 2026, through 5:00 pm PT on December 31, 2026.
Registration Deadline: September 25, 2026, at 5:00 pm PT.
