Call for Entries for animalia
fauna, beasts, birds, zoological, mammals, wildlife, amphibians, creatures, reptiles, fish, insects, critters … animalia encompasses the many forms of animal life that inspire and inform photographic work.
Photographers of all levels are invited to submit work reflecting the theme “animalia” to A Smith Gallery.
Submission and Fees
The entry fee is $40 for the first five images and $5 for each additional image.
Entries of 13 or more images are eligible for a complimentary review by the gallery directors.
Exhibition
Up to 47 images will be selected for exhibition and presented in A Smith Gallery’s online gallery from November 27, 2026 through January 7, 2027.
An exhibition catalogue featuring all accepted images will be available for purchase.
Twenty-seven of the 47 selected images will also be chosen for “The 27,” a limited-edition hardbound fine art book featuring work from the exhibition.
Awards and Recognition
The Juror Award and Director Award recipients will each receive a copy of the limited-edition hardbound fine art book, an online solo exhibition, and a GalleryTalk.
The Visitors’ Award is $100 and will be selected based on the image receiving the most Instagram likes.
All selected exhibition images will receive exposure on A Smith Gallery’s Instagram and Facebook accounts throughout the exhibition.
Juror
The juror for “animalia” is Traer Scott, photographer and artist.
