Event History
After 50 years of activity, Palermofoto® launches a new residency format. A unique opportunity to full-immerse yourself in a journey of knowledge and experimentation, creating a dialogue between the past and its antique analog photographic techniques, and the present, with new artists capable of bringing their own personal vision into it.
What Makes this event different?
What makes casa & putìa unique is its dedication to preserving and sharing the rare knowledge of antique photographic techniques. In an era dominated by digital imagery, our residency offers a rare opportunity to engage with the craftsmanship of historical printing methods, from Cyanotype to Wet Collodion. We are one of the few spaces where artists can immerse themselves in these techniques, not just as a practice, but as a bridge between past and present.
Through this program, we aim to create a dialogue between past and present, offering a space where experimentation and tradition intertwine in unexpected ways.
casa & putìa is also an opportunity to expand Palermofoto's network beyond Italy, welcoming artists from around the world and fostering a reciprocal cultural enrichment. The residency invites participants to explore the possibilities of historical photography printing techniques, while contributing with fresh perspectives and artistic sensibilities, ensuring a continuous exchange between art, technique, and contemporary visions.
