Allora Gallery invites photographers from around the world to submit work for our international photography competition, "Colour."
Colour is often the first thing we notice about a place. The green of wet leaves after rain, a red door on a grey street, the orange of the sky in the last minutes before dark, a yellow raincoat in a crowd. It sets the mood before we register the subject, and it tends to stay in memory long after the details have faded.
This competition is open to every genre and every approach. Bold and saturated or soft and muted, a single bright accent in a quiet scene or a full palette that holds the frame together: what matters is that colour plays a real part in the photograph. Landscapes, portraits, street, architecture, nature, still life, abstract work, and anything that doesn’t fit a category are all welcome.
Which colours do you keep coming back to? We’d like to see the images where colour is the reason you pressed the shutter.
