Call For Entries - Artist in Residence
OVERVIEW
Located in Columbia, MO, Columbia College, which is a small liberal arts college, is seeking an artist in residence to create a public art mural for the center of campus during the Fall of 2024. The artist will need to be in residence by August 26th, the beginning of the semester. Space could potentially be available beginning the first week of August. The artist-in-residence studio space, located in the art building, will be available to the muralist throughout the semester for drafting, housing supplies, office space, and potentially meeting with students.
At this point, artists should submit qualifications only, not a design proposal. After finalists are selected, they will be invited to create design proposals for a stipend. If the candidate is qualified and interested in pursuing an adjunct teaching opportunity in addition to the mural project, additional funding and an upper-level drawing course may be available.
MURAL PROJECT/SUBJECT:
Three-sided Wall Mural (potential subject matter may include Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, or other appropriate subject matter for a College Campus).
