This is a collaboration between Photoplace Gallery and the Texas Photographic Society. Selected photographers will be part of the permanent online archives in the PhotoPlace Gallery and Texas Photographic Society websites.

Call for Entries: Composed – A Juried Photography Exhibition

PhotoPlace Gallery and Texas Photographic Society invite photographers worldwide to submit work for Composed, a juried photography exhibition exploring the creative role of composition in image-making.

Composition is at the heart of every compelling photograph. Whether carefully planned or captured in a decisive moment, it influences how viewers experience an image by directing attention, establishing relationships between visual elements, and creating meaning through balance, perspective, light, shape, and form.

This exhibition welcomes photographs in which composition is a defining element of the work. From striking geometry and graphic design to quiet minimalism, layered narratives, and unexpected viewpoints, photographers are encouraged to submit images that demonstrate a thoughtful approach to visual structure and a distinctive artistic voice.

We are pleased to welcome Brian Finke as juror. He will select approximately 35 photographs for exhibition at PhotoPlace Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont, along with 40 additional photographs for the Online Gallery. All selected works will be reproduced in the exhibition catalog, permanently archived on the websites of both PhotoPlace Gallery and Texas Photographic Society, and promoted through each organization's marketing and social media channels.

• Two Honorable Mentions: $100 each

Entry Information

• Open to photographers worldwide

• Submit up to 12 images

• Entries are submitted through the CaFE online system

• Texas Photographic Society membership is not required

Important Dates

• Entry Deadline: August 3, 2026

• Exhibition: October 2–31, 2026

Photographers retain full copyright to their submitted images. Selected works are licensed to PhotoPlace Gallery solely for exhibition, publication in the exhibition catalog, archival display, and promotion of the exhibition, with full credit to the photographer. Copyright remains with the artist at all times.

Since 2009, PhotoPlace Gallery has presented juried photography exhibitions that connect photographers with respected jurors, collectors, and audiences through thoughtfully curated exhibitions and ongoing online visibility.
