Call for Entries: Fiber Options 2026 Juried Exhibition
The Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites artists residing in the United States, Canada, and Mexico to submit original work for Fiber Options 2026, a biennial juried exhibition celebrating contemporary fiber art, textile art, and mixed media works incorporating textile techniques.
For centuries, artists around the world have used textiles to preserve history, express cultural identity, and tell stories. From traditional weaving, embroidery, quilting, and tapestry to innovative contemporary practices, fiber-based art continues to evolve as artists explore new materials, techniques, and sustainable approaches. Whether rooted in tradition or experimentation, this exhibition highlights the creative possibilities of textiles as a medium for artistic expression.
MFA welcomes original 2D and 3D artwork incorporating natural or synthetic textiles, fabric, or fiber-based processes. Mixed media works that feature textile techniques—including weaving, embroidery, sewing, appliqué, quilting, and related methods—are encouraged.
All entries will be reviewed through MFA's blind jury process by professional and credentialed art experts. Selected works will be exhibited at MFA's Circle Gallery from October 28 through November 21, 2026.
Artists are encouraged to submit work that explores the relationship between material, craftsmanship, sustainability, function, and artistic expression while demonstrating originality and technical excellence.
