In Contrast
Contrast is a dynamic element of artistic expression that can shape perception, guide emotion, and draw attention. Artists use contrast in many ways, from striking differences between light and dark and bold complementary colors to the interplay of texture, form, subject, and concept. These juxtapositions can create tension, harmony, depth, and visual interest.
In Contrast invites artists to explore contrast in its many forms and consider how it can be used as a tool for artistic expression.
Eligibility and Submission
Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) exhibitions are blind juried by professional and credentialed art experts.
The exhibition is open to artists worldwide, with the exception of artists from sanctioned countries. Original 2D and 3D artwork that meets MFA's exhibition guidelines will be considered.
Artists working in all mediums are welcome to submit.
Exhibition
Works selected by the juror will be exhibited in MFA's In Contrast virtual gallery from December 15, 2026 through February 14, 2027.
