Call for Entries: Inked: The Art of Tattoo
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center invites emerging and established artists to submit original artwork for Inked: The Art of Tattoo, an exhibition celebrating the artistic traditions, cultural significance, and evolving visual language of tattooing.
Tattoos have long served as powerful forms of personal and visual expression, carrying stories of identity, memory, heritage, transformation, and belonging. Through this exhibition, artists are invited to explore the imagery, symbolism, techniques, and aesthetics associated with tattoos and tattoo culture.
The exhibition will feature a range of artwork inspired by tattooing, including tattoo flash paintings, photographs of tattoos and tattooed people, and artwork depicting tattooed individuals. Artists may also explore the craft and history of tattooing, its cultural significance across different societies, or themes such as permanence, resilience, transformation, memory, identity, and self-expression.
Works may interpret tattoo culture directly or explore its visual language in unexpected ways. All submitted artwork should have a clear aesthetic or conceptual relationship to tattoos or tattoo culture.
