Call for Entries: Water/Seascape International Art Competition

Contemporary Art Gallery Online invites artists worldwide to submit work for the Water/Seascape International Art Competition, an online juried exhibition celebrating artistic interpretations of water in all its forms.

This international competition is open to 2D and 3D artists of all experience levels, regardless of education, background, or country of residence. Artists are encouraged to submit representational or non-representational artwork inspired by water, seascapes, coastal environments, and related aquatic themes.

Theme: Water/Seascape

Eligible work may explore a broad range of water-related subjects, including:

• Oceans, seas, and coastal landscapes
• Lakes, rivers, ponds, and streams
• Seashore scenes and coastal living
• Ocean or water-based activities
• Rain, icebergs, reflections, and weather-related water imagery
• Conceptual or abstract interpretations where water is a central visual element

Any artwork in which water is the primary theme or major compositional element is eligible for consideration.

Eligible Media and Categories

The competition accepts both representational and abstract artwork across multiple disciplines. Entries will be judged in the following categories:

• Paintings and Drawings
• Photography and Digital Art
• Mixed Media
• 3D Artwork

Artists working in traditional and digital media are welcome. Computer-enhanced or AI-assisted artwork must be disclosed; AI-created work is not eligible for the Paintings and Drawings category.

Exhibition and Awards

All entrants will be included in an online group exhibition hosted by Contemporary Art Gallery Online, running from August 5, 2026 through January 5, 2027.

Competition results will be announced on August 25, 2026. Awards will be presented to the top 6 to 8 works in each category, depending on the number of submissions. Honors include:

• Best in Show
• Judges’ Choice
• Gallery Choice
• Additional awards based on the quality and volume of submissions

Award-winning artists will also be featured in a group exhibition at the Ramsey Art Gallery in Baltimore, Maryland.
